Best EUC for a Complete Beginner?
I'm completely new to EUCs and looking for my first wheel. I'm 6'2" and about 180lbs. My main use would be commuting about 3 miles to work. Any recommendations for a reliable beginner-friendly EUC?
InMotion V11 vs Veteran Sherman - Which to Choose?
I'm upgrading from my V8F and torn between the InMotion V11 and Veteran Sherman. I do a mix of city riding and some light off-road trails. Both seem great but very different. What are your thoughts?
Chicago EUC Group Ride - This Saturday!
Hey Chicago riders! We're organizing a group ride this Saturday starting at Navy Pier at 10 AM. All skill levels welcome. We'll do about 15 miles along the lakefront. Bring water and your sense of adventure!
EUC keeps cutting out at 15mph - Help!
My Kingsong 16X keeps cutting out when I hit about 15mph. It's only 6 months old and has been babied. No warning beeps, just sudden cutout. Has anyone experienced this? I'm getting worried about safety.
InMotion V11 vs V12 - Help me decide!
I'm torn between the InMotion V11 and V12. I currently ride a King Song 16X and love it, but I'm looking to upgrade to something with better suspension (V11) or higher speed capability (V12). The V11's suspension system looks amazing for comfort, but the V12's speed and range are tempting. I do a mix of city riding and some light off-road trails. What would you choose and why?
Gotway Master Pro - First impressions after 100 miles
Finally got my hands on the new Gotway Master Pro and put about 100 miles on it over the past two weeks. Here are my thoughts: Pros: - The power is absolutely insane. Acceleration that will pin you back - Range is as advertised - easily hitting 80+ miles in real world conditions - Build quality seems solid despite the weight Cons: - Weight is a real issue. 77lbs makes it difficult to carry upstairs - Price point puts it out of reach for most riders - Definitely not for beginners - this thing will throw you if you're not careful Overall, it's an impressive machine but only for very experienced riders with deep pockets.
EUC won't charge - troubleshooting help needed
My King Song 16X suddenly stopped charging yesterday. When I plug in the charger, the light stays green instead of turning red like usual. The wheel still has about 30% battery according to the app. Things I've tried: - Different power outlets - Checked all connections - Let it sit overnight The charger seems fine - light comes on when plugged into wall. Has anyone experienced this issue? Is this a battery problem or charger problem? The wheel is about 8 months old with maybe 500 miles on it.
Weekly Group Ride - Central Park NYC
Hey NYC EUC riders! We're organizing our weekly group ride this Saturday at 10 AM starting from the Central Park entrance at Columbus Circle. Route will be the usual loop around the park (about 6 miles) at a casual pace suitable for all skill levels. We usually grab coffee after at a nearby café. Bring water, helmet required, and all other safety gear recommended. Weather forecast looks good so hoping for a great turnout! Reply if you're planning to join so we can get a headcount.
New to EUCs - Which brand should I start with?
Hey everyone! I'm completely new to Electric Unicycles and looking for my first wheel. I've been reading about different brands but getting overwhelmed with all the options. I'm looking for something safe, reliable, and good for learning. My budget is around $800-1200. Any suggestions? I'm 6'2" and weigh about 180lbs if that matters. Planning to use it mainly for short commutes (2-3 miles) and recreational riding on weekends.
Safety gear recommendations for beginners
After my third crash this week (still learning!), I realize I need better protective gear. Currently just wearing a helmet and knee pads, but I'm getting beat up pretty good. What's your essential safety gear list? Looking for specific product recommendations if you have them. Budget isn't really a concern - I'd rather spend money on protection than medical bills!
Essential Safety Gear - What You MUST Have
I see too many new riders without proper protection, so I wanted to share what I consider essential safety gear for EUC riding. After 3 years and one major crash that could have been much worse, here's my must-have list: 1) Full-face helmet (saved my face twice), 2) Knee and elbow pads (obvious reasons), 3) Wrist guards (natural instinct to catch yourself), 4) Padded shorts (tailbone protection), 5) Good shoes with ankle support. Don't cheap out on safety - your body will thank you!
EUC Battery Not Charging - Please Help!
My Gotway MSX battery stopped charging yesterday. The charger light stays green even when plugged in, and the battery indicator shows it's at 20%. I've tried different outlets and even borrowed a friend's charger with the same result. The wheel is about 18 months old. Has anyone experienced this? Is this something I can fix myself or do I need professional repair? Really hoping it's not a dead battery...
Best EUC for Daily Commuting - Need Advice!
Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy my first EUC for daily commuting to work (about 8 miles each way). I've been researching for weeks but getting overwhelmed with all the options. My budget is around $1,500-2,000. I weigh about 180lbs and have never ridden an EUC before. What would you recommend for a beginner that's reliable for daily use? Also, how long did it take you to learn? Thanks!
InMotion V12 vs KingSong S20 - Detailed Comparison
I've been riding for 2 years now and looking to upgrade from my V10F. I'm torn between the InMotion V12 and KingSong S20. Both seem amazing but I can't decide. For those who have ridden both, what are your thoughts? I mostly do urban riding with occasional longer tours. Speed and range are important to me, but so is build quality and reliability.
Learning Progress - 2 Weeks In!
Just wanted to share my learning progress to encourage other beginners! Got my first EUC (Segway S-MAX) two weeks ago and I'm finally riding confidently! Week 1 was brutal - probably 6 hours total of holding onto walls and falling. Week 2 was the breakthrough - suddenly it clicked and now I'm doing 2-mile rides around my neighborhood. Tips for other beginners: be patient, wear ALL the padding, and practice little and often rather than long exhausting sessions. So excited to join the EUC community properly now!
